Grant County Sheriff's Chaplaincy Program
GovernmentThe Grant County Sheriff's Chaplaincy's primary purpose is to provide and facilitate a Christian ministry to those who come in contact with the Grant County Sheriff's Office. Including, but no limited to, jail inmates, juvenile detainees, ex-offenders, law enforcement officers, civilian jailers, department staff, and their families, crime victims, and relatives of crime victims. Our ministry consists of chapel, juvenile chapel/bible studies, bible studies for male and female inmates, distribution of religious materials, spiritual counseling, and other programs designed to assist and equip offenders/ex-offenders and their families to become responsible and positive contributors in their communities, churches, and work place.

MGH Cares: Indiana Addiction Hotline
NonprofitThe Grant County Substance Abuse Task Force consists of 125 people and 30 agencies, all of whom are very busy trying to make a difference on the substance abuse front. Positive changes have occurred in Grant County including a partnership between Grant-Blackford Mental Health, Inc. (GBMH), the Grant County Jail and MGH. This program initiates substance treatment and counseling with inmates while they are incarcerated to prevent relapse when they are released into the community. Marion Community Schools has taken on a student liaison to attend juvenile court with students in hopes of identifying issues that may be revolving around or eventually lead to substance abuse. James Luttrell, Grant County Prosecutor, gave a detailed explanation of the Family Recovery Court to address the common problem of multi-generational substance abuse and the ripple effect that can engulf the entire family. Also, Judge Dana Kenworthy was recently recognized by the state for her team’s work in this area in creating a national model.

NonprofitOur Mission: We exist to promote adult immigrants’ personal and professional success through one-on-one ESL instruction. English Connection is a collaboration between College Wesleyan Church, Taylor University students, and other community volunteers to teach English as a second language, one-on-one. Please feel free to contact us for more information or request a tutor at this link. We provide childcare for children ages 4 to 9 years old while you receive tutoring. Nuestro Misión: Existimos para promover el éxito personal y profesional de los inmigrantes adultos a través de la instrucción personalizada de Ingles. English Connection está gestionado por voluntarios basados principalmente fuera de la Universidad Taylor y Iglesia de College Wesleyan.
